Volunteer

“Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this nation’s compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain loving one another.”

~Erma Bombeck

Volunteers bring the compassion of The Hansen House to life offering hands-on service through welcoming hospitality and comforting presence. From direct guest care to cooking, cleaning, gardening and hospitality, each volunteer keeps our busy household running smoothly. For special projects such as providing meals, helping with bulk mailings or annual fundraisers, we welcome faith communities, youth organizations, schools, clubs and businesses to organize a group to serve.

All volunteers for an Assisted Living Home in Arizona are required to have a current fingerprint card from the Department of Public Safety. The Hansen House can direct anyone interested in obtaining all clearances and certifications needed to volunteer in our home.

We are currently working with the States regulations for volunteers in our home. Volunteer positions will be opened after clarifications and requirements are logistically determined. Possible future volunteer positions may include:

Care Assistants

Volunteers who would like to assist our Caregivers with some resident care needs are considered Care Assistants. Care Assistants also provide a valuable service as a supportive presence at the bedside when family are not able to be present. Per the Arizona Department of Health Services regulations for an Assisted Living Home, any volunteer who will have contact with a resident will need to have a current CPR card (BLS) and First Aid certification. If providing more then 8 hours a week in volunteer time, you will also need a current negative TB test.
